Money Saving Monday

Here we are again, another Monday closer to Christmas. I can't wait!!!!!

This Monday our money saving tip is:

Make a budget and plan out Christmas

Every year people go hog wild over Christmas. I admit we love the Holidays but you have to step back and think about it. A lot of people don't plan for Christmas, they say it just sneaks up on them. Well I hate to inform you but Christmas has always been December 25. That's what Dave Ramsey would say.

Start a Christmas savings account, put in something every payday. Its will add up, I promise. That is if you keep depositing. :) Buy what you CAN afford. So many people charge so much for the holidays then have trouble paying it off. If you can't pay it off right away you're probably spending to much.

Shop the sales. Use coupons. Make gifts.

There are so many ideas out there. Think before you buy!!!

Happy Savings!

  1. My husband and I just went over our Christmas budget today. We have an actual holiday savings account through our bank--they send us a check every October. This system works great for us. At the same time, we are still trying to cut our spending down--keep it simple. Sometimes simple is better and I think this definitely can apply to Christmas as well. Thanks for the post!

  2. Smart post!

Thanks for sharing your insight. I wrote about Christmas this week too. Stop by and see me over at Free 2 Be Frugal.
